Peanut Butter Banana Muffin
Mama set a goal at year beginning to regularly make home-made snacks for Louis' & Papa's enjoyment. Finally, Mama took action, following the recipe provided by a blogger friend "lululu".
First attempt was Peanut Butter Banana Muffin. Papa and Mama had fun in bakery and the muffins tasted good. One thing for improvement is that the baking cup used were probably too soft to hold the batter. The muffins looked more like raisin buns. :-P
Anyway, Papa and Mama are very much contented to see Louis enjoying the muffins. Mama will try a mini-cup next time so that it can fits Louis' bite better.

Theory vs Reality
Some books say, in theory, that baby can start feeding himself since 12 months old, but it does not say whether baby can complete the task or not! The reality is that toddler gets distracted easily and has difficulty concentrating for a prolonged time.
So to be more precise, Mama will say that "Baby can START feeding himself from 12 months, but it may take many months before he can FINISH the whole feeding process by himself. "
Anyway, Mama will continue practicing with Louis, and look forward to the day when he can feed himself a full meal ...

Athletic boy
Louis made a nice attempt on hurdle exercise. Could he be a good athletic player one day?

A talent in drama
Louis,
You are indeed getting more expressive recently, especially at showing your frustration when things go against your wish. However, crying, screaming, and rolling on the floor are NOT the right ways to do so. We will patiently teach you the educated way to express your need and emotion.
Papa wonder where you learn such "drama skills" (pretend to cry, etc) from?!?! Anyways, we love you no matter what. (Honestly, seeing you rolling on the floor and pretending to cry are sometimes quite funny.)
Love,
Papa and Mama

Chopping fruit
Mama can still remember chopping game as one of her favorites when she was small. PorPor used to give her a slice of potato or carrot to play with her toy knife and cutting board. That may be the reason why Mama likes cooking now.
After some practice, Louis can master the skill of chopping very well now. Does he look like a professional chef?

A chic set of activity table
Papa and Mama tried to find an activity table for Louis but seemed that the choice is limited. Before they find an ideal one for Louis, Mama found this set of antique-look furniture at home (cabinet and chair) that fit well together for temporary use. Not only does it look chic, Louis can spend good time there reading and drawing by himself.

... and Pull Up
Louis likes to hide behind the window shade and practise pull-ups. It's like his secret work-out place.

Walking backward
Not only has Louis started to run, he also gets amused by walking backwards. To top up the difficulty (and fun), he even pulls his stroller while walking backwards.

Lost a sandal but win a fun trip to Disneyland
At the beginning of this summer, Mama bought a pair of "Teva" sandals for Louis, which she thought is the best pick for the season. However, Louis lost one of them. As a result, Mama needed to shop for a new pair. As a cost-conscious shopper, Mama brought Louis to Tung Chung Shopping Outlet to try on a pair of Crocs. And as Tung Chung is so close to Disneyland ....
Swimming Class - Summer 2009
"Swimming Class- Summer 2009" has begun since July and is held every Sat morning. After some trials, Papa found that the best way for Louis to practice is to go to the adult pool and get rid of all kinds of floating aids. Though Louis may not be able to master swimming in this summer, he can at least enjoy "floating", and build up his courage!
Apart from swimming practice, playing "water toys" in the kids' pool is a key element in the curriculum. Pouring water in and out of the cups is Louis' favorite activity.
