Year End Celebration

Today is the last day of Louis' school term in toddler program and teachers threw a party to celebrate the wonderful progress of the class in the past year. Mama and Louis also took this good chance to take photos with teachers and school friends as some of the kids will leave to other schools or different campuses. The kids had a good time partying and saying goodbye to everyone before the school year ends. Papa and Mama are glad for Louis' progress and development in the past six months. With the positive comments from teachers, it gave Papa and Mama confidence for keeping Louis in this school and we look forward for his promoting to kindergarten in coming September.

In the party today the children sang a mandarin song together. This is one of Louis' favorite recently, though sometimes with missing words/notes. Finally Mama would hear the complete version.

Louis Live in Concert

Papa and Mama are the super fans of Louis. :)

Song list:
1) 耶穌愛我
2) 讚美
3) 小魚,你的家在那裡 (mandarin)
4) 天父造了小魚魚

Caring heart

Louis impressed Papa & Mama very much by modifying the "I Love Papa" song to apply to people around him, from Mama to MuiMui, from grandparents to auntie in Indonesia (who he only met several times), even to his Sunday School teacher! He's such a sweet and caring boy.

* In the video, "Teacher Sa" is his Sunday School Teacher; "Goo Por" is the auntie in Indonesia.

Louis prays for...

[Proverbs22:6]Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.
[箴言22:6]教養孩童、 使他走當行的道 、 就是到老他也不偏離 。

We are really glad to see that Louis is learning how to pray and care for people, animals and things around him. Keep it up, Louis!

Cleaning up the mess

Recently Louis liked to mess up his toys and books as if he was trying to demonstrate his power. Cleaning things up for him is easy but Mama would rather spend time to tidy things up together with him, and let him realize that he should learn to be responsible with his belongings. Tough job indeed.

New school

Louis,

You started your new school since December and Papa and Mama are grateful that you enjoyed it so far. It indeed worried mama at the beginning as the environment and the Montessori teaching approach are so much different from the traditional school that both you and we were familiar with. Though without fancy decoration nor colorful settings., we hope this unique setting can help train up your concentration and independence.

Love,
Papa and Mama

CD machine

This is probably the first electric appliance of Louis in his life. Though Louis loves to watch DVD a lot, Papa and Mama decided to bring him back to the CD era for Louis' own good (as watching too much TV is no good). We are glad that Louis like the idea and enjoyed playing and switching disc with his new CD machine.

Role switching

Guess what this is? Does it look like a big bird from a side view?

In just a second, Louis switched his role from a builder to an animal caregiver. It has been so much fun playing with him. :-)

Jingle bell song in practice

Christmas is round the corner and Louis has been very keen to practise the "jingle bell" christmas song.

Clean Up

Louis' and Kristen's toys are all placed on an open shelves cabinet so that they can always check out their toys easily and freely. Yet, freedom must come with responsibility. It is definitely not an easy task for toddlers, but we are glad that Louis is practising the rule. We do hope that through these practices, not only can he learn his organization skills, but also growing up as an independent and responsible person. Work hard, Louis!

Louis' first watch

Louis is a clock and watch lover. He also likes to name the numbers on it or point to people's watch and ask them "what time is it?". Today, Papa has bought Louis a watch. Though it is just an inexpensive plastic toy watch, he is so proud to show his teachers and friends about his first even watch in his life!

After school fun @ Disneyland

In order to alleviate the sadness of leaving PIPS, on last day of school, Mama brought Louis to Disneyland after school. Papa was so kind to take time off to join and show his support. Though it was the n-th time to Disneyland, the Christmas decoration and Christmas special performance brought them new excitement. Papa and Mama look forward to the day when kids are old enough to travel easily together to enjoy a real white Christmas overseas!

Last day at Starfish

Today marked a very special day of Louis and Mama. Due to moving home, Louis has to switch to a new school. The last day at PIPS was truly memorable. Lots of pictures have been taken by the teachers, showing their' great love to the kids.
Papa and Mama are so proud of what Louis accomplished from the Starfish pre-nursery class! Mama already misses the teachers and other parents, as they've known each other since Louis first started attending PIPS playgroup at one year old!

Priceless moment after class

Mama loves to pick up Louis after school, as Louis is always very joyful rushing out of classroom to give Mama a big hug with the most wonderful smile. The moment is priceless.

The power of Disney characters

Louis usually can't stand still for photo taking. But with his favorite characters Mickey, Minnie and Donald as background, he requested 'can Mama take picture please?'

School uniform mix and match

'Learning throgh play' is a key philosophy of the school that LoBest way to teach kids about colours is to show them and let them wear them! See how colourful Louis' school uniforms are, particularly with Mama's mix and match!
